PTTAC Aligns with Insurance Industry

The Professional Truck Training Alliance of Canada (PTTAC) is aligning with leaders of the insurance industry who insure the Professional Truck Operator.

The newly formed PTTAC Commercial Truck Insurance Group will be made up of PTTAC school, insurance company and carrier members.

Jim Campbell, Chairperson of PTTAC, is excited about the recent announcement and says, “establishing an Insurance Group for PTTAC is a necessary step that will help the industry gain confidence with the schools they do business with.”

The committee will be made up of PTTAC members who are industry professionals and leaders who understand the risk and safety side of the training school business

The mission and mandate of the PTTAC Insurance Group will be established as the committee meets with PTTAC senior leadership and executive.

Campbell commented, “In the school business the insurance companies are an extremely important partner. If the insurance companies and brokers cannot insure entry level drivers the entry level drivers are unemployable.”

The recipe for this to work is really simplistic; the right school, the right carrier, the right finishing program at the carrier, insured by an insurer who has the confidence in the schools processes and the carriers finishing program.

This is just another step as many in the industry continues to support the drive for Red Seal and improving entry level training for the Professional Truck Operator.
If you are in the insurance side of the trucking industry PTTAC already has a number of insurance members and welcomes others to get involved.

Campbell concluded, “If you’re interested in getting involved at ground level and are in the business of Commercial Truck Insurance reach out and we will get you involved.”
